Craftsmanship
Our approach to fabric, embroidery, construction and finishing as the first collection takes shape.
For GURKAARI™, craftsmanship means making every decision—from fabric and silhouette to embroidery placement and finishing—feel intentional.
Material With Purpose
Fabric is considered not only for appearance, but also for drape, comfort, structure and suitability for the intended silhouette. The final material details will be stated clearly on every product page.
Surface Detail
Techniques such as phulkari, aari, zardozi, dabka and other forms of Indian embroidery may be explored according to the character of each design. The intention is not simply to add more decoration, but to place detail where it strengthens the complete look.
The Hands Behind the Craft
While GURKAARI began with a shared vision, it is being brought to life by a wider collective of experienced hands. Our designers, craft leads, master tailors and skilled artisans draw upon diverse regional traditions and years of practical knowledge from across India.
From developing silhouettes and selecting techniques to embroidery placement, construction and finishing, every stage is shaped by specialists who understand the depth and discipline behind Indian craftsmanship. Together, they are creating pieces that feel deeply rooted in the richness of Indian ethnic wear, yet distinctive in expression—original, refined and made with purpose.
Proportion & Construction
Necklines, sleeve shapes, garment lengths, panels, hems and finishing are considered together so that a piece feels balanced when worn. Made-to-measure garments will also be reviewed against the measurements and preferences supplied.
Finishing & Quality Review
Before a design becomes part of the collection, construction, embroidery, components and overall finish are reviewed. Final quality expectations and care requirements will be communicated before purchase.
Clear Product Information
Each product page will explain the fabric, work, number of pieces, fit, care guidance, customisation availability and expected dispatch period, helping customers understand exactly what they are choosing.
